Joe Felber, born February 27, 1899 in Switzerland, arrived in Canada in November 1923.
On arriving in British Columbia, he worked for a number of mining companies. These travels took him to most areas of the province but mainly the Chilliwack, Vancouver Island and Terrace areas. He chose to make Terrace his home. Much of his time was spent prospecting in the Kitsumkalum and Copper River valleys. He came to appreciate the beauty of the mountains, waterfalls and the reflections in the many lakes and captured much of this scenery and of the area on film.
A collection of his photography has been donated to the Terrace Public Library.
