Sande Mill

In 1944 McKiney, Ruckle and Sande built a mill about 1 mile off Queensway and Old Remo Road.

In 1946 Sande bought out his partners. In the fall of 1946 Sande Lumber Mills entered into a partnership arrangement with Clair Giggey, thus forming Intervalley Lumber Co. Sande's would operate the mills and Giggey would do the logging.

There were three mills involved - Town mill, Remo Mill and a portable mill at Deep Creek. In 1954 Sande bought out the Giggey partnership. This did not involve the Remo Mill.

In 1968 Sande sold to Skeena Forest Products and Pohle Lumber. Sande Lumber Mills went into voluntary liquidation in 1970. The Sande Overpass now goes over the site of the mill.
