Library Board

The Terrace Public Library Board is made up of nine elected community volunteers, one representative appointed by city council and one representative appointed by the regional district. The nine elected trustees sit on the board for two year terms. A member is eligible for re-election or re-appointment, but no member may serve for more than eight consecutive years. Board members must be residents of Terrace, Thornhill, or designated Library service areas and must be over the age of 18.

The Library Board is responsible for developing library policy and works with the Head Librarian to oversee Library Management. Board meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month, September through June. To contact Library Board Trustees please email library@terracelibrary.ca

Library Policies

Are you interested in becoming a Library Board Member? Please fill in an application form and drop off at or email to the Library. Names can be put forward to the Library Board any time, but elections are only held once a year in February at the Annual General Meeting.

Minutes of the Library Board

The library board has meetings every month of the year, excluding July, August, and December, on the third Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM in the library meeting room. All minutes of the board meeting are available to the public. Please contact the library if you would like a copy of any board meeting minutes.
