She was a long-time columnist with the Terrace Standard and is a prolific scribbler of . . . other things, with articles, essays, short stories, and poems appearing in a variety of publications. She believes in the power of stories—fiction and non—to transform lives.

Jane Stevenson is an award-winning writer of fiction and nonfiction, and she is the recipient of the Governor General Award for Historical Writing. Her work has been published by Geist, Riddle Fence, Prairie Fire, Northword, and Thimbleberry, and she has long listed for the CBC short story prize twice and short listed for the Journey Prize. She is the author of The Railroader’s Wife and A Trail of Two Telegraphs.

Andrea Guldin is an artist, writing coach, and mentor, who has been working since her return to Kitimat to support other writers in reaching their goals, providing insight and guidance both in person and online, in group and one-on-one format. She specializes in world building and character development with a soft spot for fantasy and romance. As an artist Andrea is well-known both for her art and her advocacy for equitable accessibility within the art world.

Local authors Ev Bishop, Jane Stevenson, and Andrea Guldin will be leading the workshop with thought provoking presentations and writing exercises to inspire you!

For our noon break, you are welcome to bring a bagged lunch to ‘eat in’ or take advantage of the restaurants nearby.
